Where to start.....
The kids are really settled in. It honestly feels like they have always been here. Just like any other family, its great 99.9% of the time. I can't begin to imagine how hard the entire process is on Star J and Star R. Their entire world has been flipped upside down. The second they get a time out, or we talk to them about rules....they ask for their foster mom. (She is one amazing woman!) We let the kids know that when we have settled the issue, and they are no longer upset, they can always call her. We want them to know that we are here to solve the problems with them. And she is there for confirmation...lol. Example...they got busted jumping on the couch....we dealt with it....they talked to Mama C later in the day, told her what happened...and she talked to them about it as well and told them not to do it. She is an amazing support to all of our family in this process.
I feel so fortunate every day, and every night. Both kids have bonded with their dad and I a lot quicker than we ever thought possible. Star R says "Mom, guess what...I love you! You're the greatest" "Dad...I love you!" And Star J will hold our faces, or hug us tight and say..."I love you for ever and ever and ever and ever..." Some people say its honeymoon phase. We think...we just got blessed with some amazing children! All 3 of our kids are phenominal! Star A is the most amazing big sister I could ever have imagined her being. The little 2 just thrive when she is in the room. And Star A loves that they need her as much as they do. She was concerned that she wouldn't be a good enough big sister. Well, she is better than I ever prayed she would be. She does love that they go to bed before her so she gets some quality time alone with her dad and I. We make sure she knows how much we love her as well.
We have been quite busy with family outings. A whole lot of swimming, the playground, the library, playgroups, family fun centres, etc. And the best is days like today...tons of snow...and tossing the kids out the door so it wasn't so loud in the house...lol. It gets quite loud when there is a snow day...and suddenly 5 children at my house! Hubby thinks I'm insane to even be willing to have that many alllll day. Normally....Star A, and Star R go to school....and Star J and I get mommy-daughter time. We do tea parties with the dolls, manicures, hair design, story time at the library, playgroups, craft time...etc. The preK program at our school was full, so I have to find things to do that will keep her busy. If anyone wants to join us for tea time....let me know and I will unlock the door!
Lastly...I have soooo many pictures from the last 2 weeks. At least 200. Here are a few of my favorites!
